This is the planet our story is set on.
The sun and moon are chained to Karserus by a belt. No mortal soul is aware of when or why this happened, but the sun and moon are locked in place. There is no day or night cycle. If the belt were to slip, it would cause drastic climate change across the world.

Sol's Domain
This is the name of the desert area under the sun. This area is unbearable for most creatures without the biology to stand such intense heat. No living mortal knows where the name came from, but some cultures like to make up theories rumors about the area.

Life Ring
The most neutral temperatures are found here, at the midpoint between the moon and the sun. This is the most populated area in Karserus because it never experiences extreme temperatures, but that doesn't stop big towns or even cities from popping up elsewhere.
Silent Jungle
A fairly chilly are with a dense amount of trees. No known civilizations can be found in this forest because of the dark rumors spread about the jungle. A few small, rickity buildings can be found if you don't venture too far in, but most people can't say whether anyone was even alive in the jungle to claim them.

Goldwyrm
"The town of second chances"
A village that was once prosperous, but has now fallen into disarray. There are a handful of run-down or even abandoned shops. Its most known for it's structures and town hape, crafted with the skeletal remains of a massive ancient dragon.
Sword Fall
A large city with one of the biggest banks in all of Karserus. Buildings are found woven into a system of canals, making water taxis the most used form of transportation within the city. It gets it's named after the landmark on the outskirts of town, a large waterfall with a giant sword in the middle, parting it into two powerful streams that provide water for the canals.
Markoth
A city built within a small canyon in the desert. It's well known for being the main source of Sizzle, a drug that's caused many troubles for the city. The city is very prosperous for those who can manufature the drug, but the rest of the population is at constant war with itself and there is rarely a moment of peace.
The Umbra
A city with a bad reputation and little to no authority. It's rare to see a street without bars, clubs, or black markets. Despite the danger that's commonly discussed outside of town, many people on a streak of bad luck retreat here to make a rebound to get back to a better life.
The Maw
The only known living piece of earth. The Maw is a dark pit with rows of large teeth that reach farther down than anyone can see. No person has ever come out of the pit, but unrecognizable creatures may surface if one got too close. It's widely accepted as part of Karserus's Pantheon.
